Ryan Haywood and the Loogootee Lions hit a blackjack early, then played with house money for the rest of the night in French Lick as Peyton Bledsoe and Jordan Wildman combined for 22 points to lead Class A, #8 ranked Loogootee past struggling Springs Valley 48-20 on Saturday night. The Lions began the game on an 11-0 run before Valley hit a trey to get on the board. By the end of one LHS would have a commanding 14-3 lead. For SV things would only get worse in the second as Loogootee again held the host, Blackhawks to just 3 points while putting up 18 of their own for a 32-6 lead at the break. The Lions would strike first with a basket to begin the second half, then Springs Valley finally scored to make it 34-6, ending what would be a 20-0 run for LHS going all the way back to the first quarter. With the Blackhawks down 36-11 in the third, Loogootee would roll off yet another 8 straight points to go up 44-11. The Lions would eventually finish off SV for good, 48-20 on a night in which they shot 51% from the field, including 6-12 from long distance.
