Jordan Wildman scored 14 points and Silas Bauer added 11 to go with 9 rebounds to lead Loogootee (18-5, 8-0) to a 61-31 road win at North Knox (10-13, 4-4) to clinch the Blue Chip Conference outright for the first time since 2013.
The Lions took command early by jumping out to a 16-6 lead after one. NK would trim the deficit to single digits at 22-14, but that’s as close as the Warriors would get to LHS for the rest of night as Loogootee scored the final ten points of the half to stretch its lead to 32-14 heading into the break. Loogootee netted the first three points of the second half to complete a 13-0 run, and would eventually double up North Knox to the tune of 50-25 after three. LHS finished off the Warriors for good in the 4th quarter to claim a 61-31 victory.
Thursday’s win was the 5th straight for Loogootee over North Knox. It also gives the Lions a 47-10 advantage in the head-to-head series over the Warriors.
